Rosamund Pike

Born in London in 1979, Rosamund Elizabeth Pike is an actor. She was the sole child to a classical violinist mother Caroline (Friend) and an opera singer father Julian Pike. She spent her childhood travelling around Europe because of her parents' work. Pike was a student at the Badminton School in Bristol, England and then began her acting career at the National Youth Theatre. Pike was just 23 years old when she made her debut in "Romeo and Juliet" at the National Youth Theatre. She was then noticed by an agent and was signed. Although her debut film was a major-budget action feature but the film following was primarily in smaller independent films, such as Promised Land (2004), The Libertine (2004), (for which she received the Best Supporting Actress award at The British Independent Film Awards), and Pride & Prejudice (2005) in the role of one of the Bennet daughters. A brief venture into Hollywood film was followed by the action movie, Doom (2005) as well as the thriller Fracture (2007) However, she made a return to smaller films with her outstanding performances in three movies: An Education (2009) as well as Dagenham (2010), and An Education. Dagenham (2010) and the lead role opposite Paul Giamatti in Barney's Version (2010).As she continued her stage work in England, Pike appeared in the spy spoof, Johnny English Reborn (2011), and inhabited the role as "Andromeda" in the sci-fi epic, Wrath of the Titans (2012). She was back in action films featuring a female lead with Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher (2012).
