Rashida Jones
Rashida Jones was born in Los Angeles,
California to Quincy Jones, a media producer and mogul, as well as Peggy
Lipton, Rashida is the younger sister of actress Peggy Lipton and Quincy Jones.
Kidada Jones is her elder sister. She also has five half-siblings from the
other relationships her father had with his family. Her father is African
American and her mother Ashkenazi Jewish (a descendant emigrants of Russia and
Latvia). Rashida was raised Reform Judaism. Her birthplace was Bel Air, Los Angeles.
Jones has stated of her multi-racial parentage, "It was the 1970s and
still not that acceptable for them to be together." Jones began her
professional acting debut in The Last Don, a 1997 mini-series based on the
novel by Mario Puzo. Rashida was also an Harvard University graduate in 1997.
She was a student at the Buckley School in Sherman Oaks (California). Voted the
Most Likely Sufferer. Arabic (O+ O'UO-O(c), her name) stands for
"Major," adult, mature, wise or older. In People Magazine's "50

engaged to her sister Kidada Jones. Kidada and Rashida were produced by Quincy
Jones III, the brother of Quincy Jones III. Quincy Jones III was present in the
introduction and sang the lyrics from the poem by Shakur "Starry
Night." Shakur's poem is the source for the song's title. Rashida is
African-American and has more English, Scottish, or Welsh family ancestry than
his mother (some of his African family members are of the Tikar tribe from
Cameroon). Rashida's mother is Ashkenazi Jewish (of Russian Jewish and Latvian
Jewish descent). Her paternal grandparents, both from South Carolina, and
Mississippi as the paternal grandparents of her father. Her maternal
grandfather was born in New York, and her maternal grandmother was born in
Dublin, Ireland, of Eastern European Jewish origin. She has been playing three
characters named "Karen" from 2009 to present on the cult television
comedy series Freaks and Geeks (1999), Stella (2006), and The Office (2005).
